Lar Lubovitch Dance Company Presents:

Washington, DC                                            January 12-14, 2007
Text Box: Start the New Year right by joining the Lubovitch company for the Kennedy Center premiere of Lar’s full-length “Othello, presented by American Ballet Theatre.  Hailed as “a milestone in the history of dance in this country” by the San Francisco Examiner when the ballet debuted in 1997, “Othello” is now being revived as the highlight of ABT’s winter season in our nation’s capital – one of the first events in that city’s Shakespeare Festival running from January through June 2007.
Features included in the “Benefit Package”:
  • VIP orchestra seating for ABT’s Saturday, January 13 evening performance of “Othello,” starring Marcello Gomes in the title role, partnering Julie Kent as his Desdemona.
  • Pre-performance dinner at Marcel’s, chef Robert Wiedmaier’s acclaimed Belgian/French restaurant in Foggy Bottom, and exclusive post-performance champagne and dessert reception with Lar Lubovitch and ABT dancers in the private dining room of the Kennedy Center’s Roof Terrace Restaurant.
  • Optional add-on meals at three more top dining spots: Friday lunch at Gerard’s Place, Friday night dinner at Tosca, and Sunday brunch at Season’s – a favorite weekend spot for DC insiders.
  • Customized tour options including a visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery with former director Alan Fern, along with special entry to a select group of other DC attractions.
Optional accommodations:  Hotel Monaco features some of Washington’s most stylish accommodations within the stately structure of the 1839 Tariff Building – an all-marble Registered National Landmark originally designed by Robert Mills, the architect for the Washington Monument.  The hotel is located close to the National Mall in Penn Quarter, the downtown district that The Washington Post calls “Penn Ultimate” because of its intense concentration of hot restaurants, clubs and shops, as well as attractions like the newly re-opened National Portrait Gallery.  The Lubovitch company has reserved a special block of rooms at Hotel Monaco, with King Deluxe rooms priced at $225 and somewhat larger Monte Carlo Guestrooms for $260 per night (whether single or double occupancy) – including all taxes, but excluding any incidentals.Special rates:
